New Face For Ayawaso North

Amin Lamptey, a born and bred Ayawaso North indigene, is set to change the politics of that part of Accra as he seeks to represent the constituency on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) when the time is due.

DAILY GUIDE linked up with him for a chat and he agreed that he was lacing his boots for the task of winning the seat to execute what he said are projects that could transform the face of the area.

On whether he has the political experience to carry out his dreams he said, “I was born and bred at Maamobi East, specifically Maamobi East, which is part of the newly created Ayawaso North Constituency where Dr. Mustapha Ahmed is currently the MP.”

As once assemblyman for Maamobi East Electoral Area, holding the position for four years, he says he has what it takes to represent the electoral area at a higher level.

In 2008, he went independent after suffering frustration when he sought to represent the constituency on the ticket of the NDC.

He said he took that singular decision to protest the phenomenon of as he put it, “importing people from other places to come and represent the people in parliament.”

He was Communications Director for ‘Zongo for Mahama’ and traveled throughout the country.
