NPP will win 2020 easily even with dumsor - Wontumi brags

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Bosiako knew in politics as Wontumi has stated categorically that the current power challenges cannot send Akufo-Addo’s government into opposition as it is poised for victory in 2020.

Power cuts in Accra and other parts of the country began more than a month ago with residents experiencing blackouts throughout the night, causing them to sleep outside to beat the heat.

On March 13, MPs were forced out of the chamber of parliament after a power cut and the failure of the UPS system that supports the sound systems in the chamber to function.

Despite assurances from the Minister that it was a week’s problem, the situation has persisted and now taking longer than anticipated.

The past weekend, scores of residents in the capital and other big cities experienced prolonged and persistent power cuts.

It would be recalled that Ghanaians voted massively against the then National Democratic Congress (NDC) government during 2016 general elections due to power challenges under the administration of John Dramani Mahama.

Addressing party supporters during NPP youth conference and inauguration of election committees last weekend, Chairman Wontimi said Ghanaians are happy with the implementation of government flagship programmes insisting NPP will win 2020 elections if dumsor returns.

According to him, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s administration will tackle the current power challenges to save Ghanaians from dumsor.

“Ghanaians have decided already. Ghanaians will vote for NPP government in 2020 elections. Nothing can stop NPP from winning 2020 elections. Dumsor cannot send the NPP party to the opposition. President Akufo-Addo administration will take Ghanaians to the promise land. Whether dumsor or no dumsor, Ghanaians will vote for NPP” he said.

Chairman Wontumi accused NDC of being behind current power challenges just to disgrace Nana Addo government.
