NPP will ensure equitable distribution of national cake

Kumasi, Nov 27, GNA- Mrs Agnes Okudzeto, Second National Vice-Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has said the government would ensure equitable distribution of the national cake if it returned into power.

She said this would be done irrespective of whether a particular region voted for it or not.

She said since assuming the reigns of power, the government had not denied any region its share of development projects, adding that this had shown that the NPP was not tribalistic.

Addressing the Oforikrom constituency members of the NPP at Ayigya-Zongo in Kumasi, Mrs Okudzeto said, "The HIPC benefits have been utilised to the benefit of all and this demonstrates the willingness of the NPP government's resolve to develop every part of the country". The function also coincided with the inauguration of the Ayigya-Zongo branch of the Nasara Club, which has Mr Mahey Mohammed as its chairman.

Mrs Okudzeto advised women to be abreast with the party's manifesto and its comprehensive policy on women so as to take advantage of the many interventions government had created to empower them. She expressed satisfaction about the "true path of democracy" pursued by the government in accordance with its belief in freedom of speech, good governance and the rule of law.

Mr Lawrence Prempeh, chairman of the Oforikrom constituency of the party, said recent developments at the constituency pointed to a massive win for the party at both the presidential and parliamentary polls.
