NPP's surging influence in Ghana politics due to principles

Ho, May 17, GNA - The New Patriotic Party's (NPP) surging influence in politics is due to its liberal democratic principles, Mr Ernest Yao Gaewu, the party's parliamentary candidate for Ho-West, has said.

He told the GNA in an interview that NPP's philosophical attributes therefore made it the obvious choice for governance. Mr Gaewu, a Ho-based legal practitioner, said the NPP was the most representative political party and that the Party's views reflected those of the mass of Ghanaians.

He blamed the rather poor performance of the NPP in the Volta Region in the past five general elections partly on the Party's untenable branding as alien to the region.

Mr Gaewu said as a result of that branding people in the Volta Region were often swayed by sentiments rather than facts He said the NPP would be scientific in marketing its message in the Volta Region.
