NPP needs a hardworking presidential candidate -Botwe

Bolgatanga, Dec. 12, GNA - Mr. Dan Botwe, a New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential aspirant, has appealed to the party's delegates to vote for him when the party goes to congress to elect its presidential candidate for Election 2007.

He said he is a trustworthy and hardworking person who could mobilize the people and boost their morale to move the party forward. Mr Botwe said the party was aware of his reputation as a hardworking person since he had, as the party's General Secretary, organized it to win elections twice.

"We should not take chances at all, there is a lot of work to do and the harder we work, the better our chances at winning," he said when he met the Upper East delegates at Bolgatanga.

He said he had been in politics for the past 25 years and made a lot of sacrifices in the interest of the party during the difficult years when the party was in opposition.

Mr Botwe appealed to the delegates to vote for someone who had no blemish in his reputation and not for the sake of money because that would eventually cripple the party.

He said at almost 50 years he was not too young to be President of Ghana and was marketable enough to attract the support of the people and is well experienced to lead the party to victory.
