Activists and supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have been told to uphold the party’s decision to suspend those who decide to go independent in the November 7 General Election.

Mr Yaw Danso, the Bosome-Freho NPP Constituency Organiser, addressing a news conference at Asiwa in the Ashanti Region, said the decision was in the best interest of the party, warning that those “who acts in variance to the rule must be rejected by members”.

“We have a common agenda of claiming victory in the polls this year, and all hands must be on deck to achieve our target to salvage Ghanaians from the harsh socio-economic conditions they are experiencing ”, he said.

Mr Danso said losing parliamentary candidates in the recent NPP primaries ought to throw their support behind the elected ones.

“We should not countenance saboteurs, who out of their own selfish interest decide to go independent in order to create confusion,” he said.

He pledged the support of the NPP for Ms Joyce A. A. Dei as parliamentary candidate for the constituency “and throw our support behind her”.

The Constituency Organiser affirmed the party’s resolve to work assiduously to increase the total ballots cast as compared to the 2012 elections.

The NPP has the panacea to deliver the masses from their hardships.
