NPP is committed to the development of the country

Ejura (Ash), Aug 29, GNA - Mrs Mary Brobbey, Ashanti Regional Women's Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has said that the NPP government was determined to provide the needs of the people to improve their living conditions.

She appealed to Ghanaians to have confidence in the government and throw their weight behind it to ensure successful implementation of its policies and programmes.

Mrs Brobbey was addressing over 200 women in an education programme organised by the Women's Wing of the party in the Ejura-Sekyedumase constituency at Ejura at the weekend. She said the six-year rule of the government had enabled the people to enjoy peace, stability and development and attributed such achievements to good governance.

Mrs Brobbey said the implementation of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), capitation grant and the school feeding programme, construction of classroom blocks, roads and clinics and others were testimonies that the government had not failed the people. Dr Joshua Ayarkwa, the District Chief Executive for Ejura-Sekyedumase, commended women groups in the area for undertaking activities including trading and farming to improve their incomes. He advised those who have been supported by the Ministry of Women and Children's Affairs with credit facilities to pay the money back for others to benefit from it.
