NPP govt would succeed NPP govt--DCE

Mampong, (Ash), Nov. 12, GNA- Dr. Joshua Ayarkwa, Ejura-Sekyedumase District Chief Executive (DCE) has said that the party's sitting president will complete his term of office and hand over to another NPP president.

"Should this happen then it means members of the party will have to work extra harder than they did in 2000 and 2004", he said.

Dr Ayarkwa made this assertion in an address read on his behalf by Mr Richard Diabenah, Ejura-Sekyedumase District Youth Employment Co-ordinator at the NPP Tertiary Students' Confederacy (TESCON) branch of the University of Education, Winneba-Mampong campus membership drive campaign at Asante Mampong on Saturday.

The DCE cautioned members of the confederacy nationwide to be mindful of the task ahead and urged them to close their ranks and remain united and committed to ensure overwhelming victory in 2008. Mr Kwame Osei-Prempeh, Deputy Minister of Justice and Attorney General said the NPP government believes in fairness since it is the bedrock of democracy. He said the government has earmarked human resource development and for that matter quality education as one of its priority areas through good governance for growth and development.

Alhaji Ahmed Akwasi Yeboah, Kwabre District Chief Executive reminded the members of the need to embark on effective and proper organisation since "organisation decides everything".

He pointed out that the Party was going to stay for long because it was the people's party and called on them to prepare themselves adequately to take leadership positions in the party.

Alhaji Yeboah stressed the need for them to involve more women in the operations and imbue in them the spirit of enthusiasm and commitment.

Mr Peter Abum Sarkodie, Member of Parliament for Mampong said numerous successes chalked by the NPP government have really advertised the country on the world map as a great nation.

He said, this could be seen in the areas of transportation, micro-economic stability, government's foreign relations policy, agriculture and human rights.

Dr Owusu-Bempah Hemeng, a lecturer at the University called on the members to lead the crusade of positive change agents in their communities.

Mr Ahmed Abdul-Gaiyu, President of the Confederacy urged members to be committed to the dictates of TESCON and work hard in their membership drive for victory in 2008.

He also called on all the Party's presidential aspirants to be patient and support the government because victory for NPP in the 2008 elections would depend on their positive contribution to President Kufuor's administration.
