'NPP communicators should not rely on party for cash' - Director

Communicators of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) must work harder and stop depending on the party for their livelihood, Ashanti Regional Communication director of the party, Mr. Kwasi Kyei Danso has admonished.

“I have not stolen or squandered any amount of money neither have I received money from the party headquarters or any individual to be given to you”, the embattled Communications Director told members.

“You people have strength and energy unlike me and should not depend on the party for food or money all time for your livelihood”, the physically challenged director responded to allegations leveled against him of squandering party’s cash.

Members of the communication team alleged their director, pocketed an amount of Ten Thousand cedis supposedly from the seat of government meant for members for their contribution towards the 2016 victory of the party.

According to them, the communication director after the 2016 polls also received an undisclosed amount of money from the party’s headquarters but none of their members had his/her share of it.

Mr. Kwasi Kyei Danso however denied these allegations level against him made by a known a serial caller in the region, Oga Willie on a number of radio stations in the region.

“It is never true. They just want to soil my name and pitch my able and other hardworking communicator against..Those accusing me envy me because they think it was the party who bought me my new car”, the fashion designer fumed.

Mr. Kwasi Kyei Danso is alleged to have pocketed ten thousand cedis supposedly from the seat of government to be shared among party communicators in the region towards their contributions to the party’s victory but none of the member received his or her share.

It was also alleged that a month after the 2016 polls, he received thirty thousand from the Manhyia North Member of Parliament, Hon. Collins Owusu Amankwa and other undisclosed amounts from the Deputy Director of the National Service Scheme all in the name of the party but kept to himself.

“I worked and toiled for it. If you don’t believe me so be it. …it is your own cup of tea and I do not care what anyone will say period” he explained.
