NPP chairman gets evil text message

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman for Nhyiaeso, Goerge Kofi Adjei is living in fear after receiving death threats on his phone.

Kofi Adjei aka ‘Geokad’ received the threatening message on his mobile phone on Thursday evening.

According to him, one Dr. Ahmed, who is said to be a top official at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), threatened to kill him on phone. The personality, he said, warned that he would kill him on the same night at his residence at TUC in Kumasi.

He said he rushed to the Buffalo Unit at the Kumasi Central Police Station to lodge a complaint. He said while lodging the complaint, Dr. Ahmed called him again to repeat the threat on phone to the hearing of policemen on duty.

He said the police eventually invited Dr. Ahmed to the station for questioning on Friday. The NPP Chairman said Dr. Ahmed is a close pal of Nhyiaeso MP, Dr. Richard Anane.

He claimed Dr. Anane was supporting Dr. Ahmed’s wife, one Mrs. Ahmed to contest for the NPP chairmanship position in the constituency.

According to him, “Dr. Ahmed lost his job at KATH some years back and he believes he suffered the fate because he was an NDC member.”

He noted that Dr. Ahmed was eventually reinstated at the hospital after the NDC took over power. Geokad said Dr. Ahmed accused him and Dr. Nsiah Asare, former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KATH of masterminding his dismissal from the hospital during the Kufuor administration.

Geokad flatly debunked the allegation, stating that he never worked at KATH.

Geokad also stated that Dr. Ahmed issued the death threats because of the impending elections in the NPP, stressing that the police should thoroughly investigate the matter and arraign the culprits before court.

He noted that Dr. Ahmed should be held responsible if any calamity befalls him and his family.

Meanwhile, the investigator in charge of the case refused to comment on the issue on phone when Daily Guide contacted him on Sunday evening.
