NPP can't win Adenta in 2012-MP declares

The Member of Parliament for the Adenta Constituency Benedict Adu Asare has
watered down any possibility and perception that a New Patriotic Party (NPP)
aspirant will unseat him in the 2012 parliamentary elections. He said the NPP
parliamentary candidate in the area ‘won’t fly.’

Ben Adu Asare said, the achievement of government in his constituency makes it
difficult for any individual or party to win any elections in the area.
He said his achievements both in the constituency and parliament makes him and
the NDC the obvious choices for the electorates in the 2012 elections.
When asked if the parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in
that constituency Frances Assiam, who was once the women organiser of the ruling
National Democratic Congress (NDC) before defecting to the Democratic Freedom
Party (DFP) and now with the biggest opposition party NPP poses a threat to him
as the sitting M.P for the Adenta area? He said ‘’nobody stands the chance of
winning against the NDC in that area.’’
He indicated that though the NPP parliamentary candidate in the area is a
versatile politician, the achievements of his government’s achievement will
speak on the day of elections adding that Ghanaians are tired of black
propaganda and lies, the truth will always stand he said.
Adu Asare who is a member of food, Agric and cocoa affairs and also gender and
children in parliament explained to Gold News that the Mills administration had
done better in its two years in office than the NPP’s four years in the Adenta
constituency
The M.P for the Adenta constituency, Ben Adu Asare retorted that government
developmental initiatives in the area and all the nooks and crannies of the
country, makes it difficult for either Frances Assiam or the NPP to make any
real impact.
The Adenta legislator recounted government interventions in the municipality;
the water situation in the area had improved. He said however that there are
some few challenges with regards to technical hitches which are being addressed.
He added that the bore hole transformer had been changed and that had also
contributed to the regular supply of water to serving the people of housing
down. Water also flows from west side and east side, kpone and converge at
Okponglo to serve East Legon, Madina including Adenta.
On roads the M.P maintained that 200 km roads are under construction including a
140 km had been awarded, ‘’a lot of work had gone into the constituency.’’ he
said.
Interventions had also gone into Education, Health, street lights, provision of
job opportunities for the youth amongst a legion of other projects.
He pointed out that, the initiatives by government in the Adenta area makes it
difficult for people to deny the positive impact of the better Ghana agenda,
‘’for which reason the people will retain the NDC and I in the upcoming
elections.’’
‘’This are the things to show. By 2012 there will be so much evidence that WE
came to serve the people and will retain President Mills and his government in
power in the next elections.’’ Adu Asare Said.
The Adenta M.P congratulated Frances Assiam for winning the parliamentary
primaries to lead her party in the area.
