NPP campaign teams presented with equipments

Sekondi, July 7, GNA- Campaign teams for the eight electoral areas in the Sekondi constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), was on Saturday, inaugurated at Sekondi, with a call on party supporters and sympathisers to avoid complacency.

They were urged to gird their loins for a sustained campaign effort, to enable the party to retain power.

Papa Owusu Ankomah, Member of Parliament for Sekondi, who performed the inauguration, said the teams were important structures for the dissemination of effective campaign messages to the people and to galvanise party members to enhance the chances of the party in the December general elections.

He said the campaign teams should be adequately resourced to facilitate their operations and said the success story of the government should be enough "ammunition" for members to use in winning more support for the NPP. Papa Ankomah, who is the Minister of Trade, Industry and Private Sector Initiative (PSI), said the structures and strategies adopted by the Sekondi constituency of the party should ensure absolute victory, if used effectively.

He said so far, the performance of the NPP to improve the lives of the people was second to none, adding that, Sekondi has had its fair share of development.

Papa Ankomah mentioned improved roads, schools, sports arenas as some of the infrastructure provided to enhance the lives of the people in the area.

He later presented four motor bikes and eight megaphones to the campaign teams and promised to supply them with additional items to facilitate their work. Two pick ups had been provided to enhance the operations of the constituency. Nana Owusu Ankomah, Western Regional NPP Chairman said the party is on course and working hard to win the elections in the first round.
