NPP Zongo Pioneers salute Nana Akufo-Addo

Kumasi, Aug 19, GNA - The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Zongo Pioneers, a group within the party, has sent a congratulatory message to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on his election to lead the party for political power in 2012.

A press statement issued by the group and jointly signed by the acting Chairman, Ahmed Nabaly and Deputy Secretary, Abubakar Alheri, in Kumasi, pledged total support for him.

It expressed optimism that Ghanaian voters would return the NPP to power in the general elections, which is a little over two years away, to end the growing cynicism and restore confidence to the economy.

The group said it was only under the NPP government, led by Nana Akufo-Addo, that the people would be assured of the sustenance of the national health insurance scheme and other social interventions introduced by the Kufuor's Administration, which brought so much relieve, especially to the poor and vulnerable.

It called on the party's supporters to rally solidly behind the flag-bearer and work hard with unity of purpose to ensure electoral victory.

The statement praised the NPP for the successful conduct of its recent presidential primaries and asked all the members to share in the pride.
