NPP Polls: Defeated candidate takes back cars he promised to donate to party

An aspirant in the just-ended New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary primaries at Ajumako Enyam Essiam constituency, Elisha Debrah Odoom who had brought 11 saloon cars to the election grounds to donate to the party took away all the vehicles after he lost the election.

He promised to donate each of the branded cars to the 10 Zones in the constituency and the remaining one to the constituency office to ensure the effective running of party activities.

But at the end of the election, Elisha Debrah Odoom who was very confident of winning lost to Rashid Kwesi Etuaful as he polled a paltry 67 as against Mr Etuaful who secured 411 votes.

An angry, disappointed and traumatized Elisha Debrah Odoom after the election quickly asked that all the cars be loaded on a trailer and driven to his residence much to the surprise of the delegates.

“The delegates were shocked when Elisha Debrah Odoom after the results were announced ordered that the cars be carted back to whereever he brought them from. The delegates were thinking that he could have donated at least just one of the vehicles to the party office to show his love for the party but he didn’t do that,” Kasapa FM’s Reporter Yaw Boagyan who covered the election reported.
