NPP Gurus Lampoon Flagbearer

Following Allegations Of NDC Stealing “People Matter” Slogan…

Say He Lacks Ideas
News Desk Report
Certain influential members of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), have taken swipes at their 2012 flagbearer, Mr. Williams Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo, over his public outburst during the presidential encounter, organised by the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) last Tuesday, alleging that, the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has stolen his ideas.
According to them, the comment made by the party’s presidential candidate that the NDC stole his ideas and for that matter his “People Matter, You Matter” slogan, is a tacit admission that he (Akufo Addo) lacks ideas; in that, floating voters would not vote for NPP or the NDC because of slogan.
The said NPP gurus, whose identities The Informer cannot disclose, made the above remarks in an exclusive telephone conversation with this paper yesterday.
According to them, they have realized that the allegations made earlier before that of their party flagbearer’s, was not true, and that they feel very disgraced that Nana Akufo-Addo has allowed himself to be lured into such unwarranted debate, when he should have used the platform offered him to convince Ghanaians as to why he should be elected to lead Ghana.
“Nana Addo has demonstrated per his fight over the “People Matter, You Matter”, slogan that he lacks ideas, and in addition, has nothing better to offer the good people of this country”, one of these influential NPP persons has told The Informer.
However, certain level-headed persons in the Akufo-Addo campaign team, who this paper contacted, were unhappy and have equally expressed their disappointment in their leader over his claim that the NDC had stolen his slogan, and so have decided to advise themselves.
Coming at the heels of Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover’s mess-up that the Ghana Television (GTV) did not show his party’s flagbearer at the late President Atta-Mills’s funeral, is making some serious-minded persons believe that the Akufo Addo campaign is dying slowly.
In any case, how can Ghanaians matter to Akufo-Addo and his NPP, when they have always wished war on the country? Perhaps, Akufo-Addo has to do serious evaluation of himself and stop being a bother to the good people of this country.
