NDC suspends 8 officials over acid attack threat

The Western regional Council of Elders of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has suspended eight executives of the Evalue Gwira Ajomoro constituency for gross misconduct.

According to Starr News’ Emmanuel Ohene Gyan, the affected officials include the constituency chairman Charles Anokwasi (Charles Kwaw Agyei) aka Supper AA, deputy secretary King Philip Henry Anikloe, communication director Emmanuel Boamal and deputy communications director Daniel Armah.

Others are executive members Samuel Ackah (Nana Arizy), Emmanuel Kwofie (Kofie Nzema) and Cosmos Macthy (Ekow Kapinta).

The executives have been at loggerheads over the last few months as some constituency members accuse the chairman of incompetence.

The chairman has accused the supporters of threatening to attack him with acid which prompted the police to intervene. Attempts by the Municipal Chief Executive of Nzema East James Baidoo to restore calm were met with stiff opposition from the supporters.

According to Gyan, several meetings held to solve the impasse have yielded no results hence the decision to suspend the executives.
