The National Democratic Congress (NDC) will launch is much awaited manifesto on Saturday, September 17, the party’s General Secretary has disclosed.

Johnson Asiedu Nketia told Accra-based Onua FM on Thursday that all things being equal the party will launch its manifesto on the new set date.

This follows a postponement of the launch of the election document.

The party had originally scheduled Sunday, August 28 to launch the manifesto.

It chose the Brong Ahafo Region capital of Sunyani to launch the document, which will outline policies that will influence electorates to get President John Mahama reelected. The venue remains unchanged, Mr Asiedu Nketia confirmed.

The NDC has already launched its campaign with President Mahama expected to be in the Central Region next week for a campaign tour. Mr Asiedu Nketia indicated that snippets of the manifesto will be announced by the party’s leader during the campaign tour.

There has been controversy over the launch of NDC’s manifesto as the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) accuses its arch-rivals of waiting to ape its election policy document.

Already, the NPP has been giving snippets of its manifesto with the ‘1-district, 1-factory’ and ‘1-constituency, $1m’ policies announced.
