The acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Shippers’ Authority, Prof Ransford Edward Gyampo, has urged the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its communicators to adopt a more proactive approach in defending the party’s image.

According to Prof. Gyampo, the party must protect its leader, President John Mahama, from criticism and what he described as “needless noise” from political opponents.

Speaking on the importance of regime defence, he stressed the need for the NDC to mobilize all its communicators to push back against negative narratives and safeguard the party’s legacy.

“President Mahama has to stay focused, but whether you like it or not, he's a human being—and sometimes he can be distracted or affected by this needless noise from those who don’t know how to govern a country. All mouth cameras must be activated to offer a regime defense,” he stated.

Appearing on TV3’s KeyPoint on April 19, 2025, Prof. Gyampo called on the NDC to take steps to counteract negative media coverage from the opposition, which he warned could mislead the public.

He emphasised the importance of maintaining a strong media presence and staying ahead of damaging narratives.
