NDC members urged to work hard to win the Jomoro seat

Half Assini (W/R), Jan. 28, GNA - A leading member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Jomoro Constituency, Mr Lee Ocran, has advised members of the party to work and ensure that the party wins the seat from the current incumbent.

He said members should not waste their time writing anonymous letters against each other but should rather spend their time strategising on how t= o re-capture the seat that had been lost to the Convention People's Party. Mr Ocran, who was the Member of Parliament for the area, gave the advice when addressing an NDC meeting at Half Assini.

Mr Ocran, who is Ghana's High Commissioner to South Africa, said he would not contest the Jomoro seat in the 2012 elections and urged those interested in the seat to prepare for the nominations.

He said two roads are to be constructed in the Jomoro District to facilitate movement of goods and passengers in the area. He said the roads were the Half Assini/New Town road and a dual carriage road from the Gas Processing Plant at Domunlizo near Bonyere to Mpataba. Mr Ocran said that the project, when completed, would create more job opportunities for the youth in the area.
