NDC members urged to study manifesto

Kumasi, Nov 4, GNA - Members and sympathisers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have been urged to study the Party's manifesto to enable them to explain its contents to the electorate.

Mr Ibrahim Salu, NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Tafo-Pankrono, who gave the advice, said, "the ability of the NDC to entice more people to its fold and win the 2004 General Election depends on how best members are able to convince the electorate on the Party's manifesto". He was speaking at a meeting of the Tafo-Pankrono Youth Working Group of the NDC held in Kumasi on Tuesday.

Participants brainstormed and designed strategies that could assist the NDC canvass for votes in Election 2004.

Mr Mohammed Mubarik Shaibu, NDC Secretary of the Tafo-Pankrono Youth Group, asked Ghanaians not to give the New Patriotic Party (NPP) a second chance since the Party had failed to deliver on many of its electioneering pledges.

He said, even though, the NPP promised to improve upon the living standards of Ghanaians "cost of living has become worse since they assumed power".

He said the NPP had failed to keep faith with the electorate and that electricity and water bills and fuel prices had increased astronomically.

Mr Shaibu, therefore, appealed to the electorate to vote the NDC back to power since it was human-centred.
