NDC elects parliamentary candidate

The Western Region Chairman of the Lands Commission, Mr. Isaac Adjei-Mensah, has been elected the parliamentary candidate for Wassa East Constituency on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He polled 351 votes to defeat his opponent, Mr. Joseph Kwesi Koomson, who had 108 of the valid votes cast, with three rejected ballots.

Mr. Adjei-Mensah pledged to work with all the rank and file of the party in ensuring a convincing victory for the party in December.

He said he would conduct a decent campaign devoid of insults and mudslinging and appealed to NDC supporters to rally behind him to achieve victory. Mr. Adjei-Mensah said when elected women empowerment, child education and asphalting of roads in the district would be his priority.

He would also build constituency and zonal offices for the party and undertake membership drives to strengthen grassroots support for the party.

The Western Regional Organiser of the NDC, Colonel Kaku Korsah (rtd), described the constituency primary as a “friendly family contest” and appealed to party members to rally behind the winner to contest the December elections with a united front.
