NDC activists told to close ranks

Tema, May 16, GNA - A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC has appealed to activists of the party to close their ranks to avoid infiltration.

Speaking to the GNA on Tuesday at Tema, Mr Nathaniel A. Agbolosoo, Administrator of the Tema West Constituency of the NDC, said the party was poised to win the 2008 presidential and parliamentary elections and asked them not to do anything that would disrupt the calculated plan. He alleged that loyalists to Dr Obed Asamoah, the former Chairman of the NDC, have been going round campaigning for people to defect from their mother NDC party to his party yet to be inaugurated.

While calling for a united front among the rank and file, Mr Agbolosoo noted that this was a crucial period for party members and advised that they bury differences and direct their energies towards working hard to ensure that the party wrest power from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He advised against using uncomplimentary statements and remarks in their campaign but rather target the poor governance of the NPP that has plunged Ghanaians into untold hardships.

Mr Agbolosoo said wining bye-elections at Asawase, Odododioo and Tamale Central proved that the people were solidly behind the party and urged them to do same in the December 2008 elections.
