Cape Coast, Dec 30, GNA - The Central Regional Youth Organizer of th= e National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Ato Amoah, has called on the youth o= f the party to defend the policies and programmes of the government. He said the silence of the youth on party matters was not good for its organization.

Addressing a youth meeting at Cape Coast, Mr Amoah said the youth wing of the party had decided to embark on outreach programmes to enable its members to explain government programmes and policies to the people. "We must make the people know what the government has done and inten= ds to do to promote the welfare of the people," he said and expressed regret that programmes of the government were not getting publicised. Mr Amoah said the party must not expect the media to publicize its activities but 93a way must be found to let the people to know our achievements," he stressed and urged the youth to take up the challenge. Mr Amoah said another area where the youth were needed most was how to refute the falsehood political opponents propagate about the NDC. "We must not allow the lies to sink deep into the people before we r= ise up to refute them," he said.

Mr Amoah appealed to importers of goods to make the impact of the single digit inflation and the stabilization of the cedi reflect in the pricing of their goods. He said the high cost of goods and services, especially during the Christmas festivities, eroded the benefits Ghanaians were expecting from th= e low inflation and the stabilization of the currency.
