NDC Wins Pru Constituency

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has won the elections in Pru constituency in the Brong Ahafo Regions after re-collation of the results.

The NDC Parliamentary candidate Baba Raman polled 22,080 to beat his NPP opponent David King Amoah who had 12,029.

For the Presidential race Prof John Evans Atta Mills of the NDC polled 17,050 votes to beat NPP?s J.A.Kufuor who polled 9,640 votes, whilst Dr Edward Mahama of the PNC polled 440 votes and Mr George Opesika Aguddey had 253 votes.

The EC?s returning officer in the constituency had earlier on-declared president Kufuor and the NPP?s candidate Dr. David King Amoah as winners in the constituency after the December 7 polls.

The NDC did not accept the outcome of the election and therefore petitioned the EC against the declaration of the NPP as winners and called for the recollation of the results.

The EC, as a result of NDC?s petition, organised a recollation today.

In an interview with Joy News, after the exercise, the Brong Ahafo Regional Director of the EC, Alhaji Amadu Sule said the NDC won both the presidential and parliamentary elections.

He however stated that the results do not include six polling stations at Abease area.
