NDC Regional Executive cautions party activists against misguided utterances

Koforidua, Sept. 13, GNA - Deputy Eastern Regional Secretary of National Democratic Congress (NDC), has cautioned the campaign teams of the parliamentary aspirants of the Party, to desist from pronouncements that could affect the fortunes of the political body.

Mr M. M. Doe, said it was important that all actions undertaken during the primaries helped to prepare the grounds for the victory of the Party in the 2012 General Election.

Mr Doe was speaking at the launch of the campaign of Mr Ransford Owusu Boakye, 2008 Parliamentary Candidate of the NDC for New Juaben South, who filed his nomination to contest the primary of the Party for 2012 at the weekend.

He said in 2008, the Party increased its fortunes from the 18,000 votes recorded in 2004 to 23,000.

Mr Doe said this was an indication that the NDC stood a brighter chance in Election 2012 and called on functionaries of the Party to work hard to make victory a reality.

Mr Boakye assured Party delegates that he was in the contest to win the seat for NDC.

He promised that when elected at the primary he would pursue an all inclusive campaign and ensure that all members and sympathisers of the Party were included in his campaign to ensure victory.

The Constituency Chairman of the Party, Mr Andrew Awuku, appealed to the campaign teams to desist from false accusations and unwarranted attacks on the local executives.

Three other candidates of the Party have filed their nominations to contest the primary.

They are Dr Kwaku Owusu Acheampong, Mr Kwaku Asamoah; Regional Youth Organiser of the NDC, and Mr Okyere Kwabena Kusi.
