NDC, NPP Lack Vision For Development -DFP Chairman

The Brong Ahafo Regional Chairman of the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), Mr. Peter Amo, has accused both the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for failing to come to grips with the development needs of the people, particularly the underprivileged.

In an interview with Space FM in Sunyani, Mr. Amo said, “the country has had a proliferation of political parties since 1992, but two of these parties the NDC and NPP have won political power to administer the affairs of the nation, however many Ghanaians have lost hope for a better future, as both parties cannot escape the perception of being corrupt”.

He expressed regret that both NDC and NPP are on a collision course giving their intransigent positions on the electoral process together with threats of political vendetta against each other.

Mr. Amo noted that the peace and stability of the country is threatened due to the attitude of these political parties. The DFP Regional Chairman said what most people, especially the youth are looking for is a viable alternative to the two political protagonists.

According to Mr. Amo, the DFP provides the platform for such ‘like-minded’ people to influence the political direction of this country in a positive manner.

He said the "DFP brings to Ghanaians a new face and style into the political life of the country through commitment to the democratic ideal of the freedom, social justice, transparency and accountability in governance".

The DFP regional boss advocated for constructive opposition focusing on issues, principles and policies whilst avoiding insult, abuse, violence, threats and political vendetta to move the country forward.

He also appealed to Ghanaians not to allow politics to divide them, but consider themselves as one people with a common destiny.

The Regional chairman disclosed that a platform is being provided for Ghanaians, particularly the youth, to participate in the provision of a paradigm shift in the political life and economic development agenda which would help move the country forward.

He noted that Ghana needs to move in unity and faster than it is currently moving hence all must join hands to achieve the common goal of development.
