Police Grab Two Judicial Service Staff

Koforidua (Eastern Region), 6 Nov. Two judicial service staff in Koforidua are in police grips while two others have absconded over the unauthorised withdrawal of more than 8.5 million cedis belonging to the service. Those helping the police are Mr C.K. Kumah, regional administrative officer and Mr S. Gyimah, an usher, while those on the run are Mr Christian Djabeng, an accounts officer and Mr G.K. Oteng, an assistant registrar. According to the police, the four officials allegedly prepared fictitious claims amounting to 8,566,226 cedis 13 pesewas and sent Gyimah to cash the amount on Friday, October 31. They said Djabeng and Oteng, who were deemed to have been transferred to Tamale and Mampong-Ashanti respectively by mid-October had refused to vacate their posts for their successors. Meanwhile, Mr Kumah and Gyimah have been whisked to Accra to help in police investigations.
