Mrs Kusi re-elected for Tarkwa-Nsuaem constituency

Tarkwa (W/R), July 29, GNA- Mrs Eugenia Gifty Kusi, Member of Parliament (MP) for Tarkwa-Nsuaem Cnstituency was on Wednesday re-elected as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate to contest Election 2004 at the Party's primaries held at Tarkwa. All the 126 polling station chairmen with the exception of one, who had travelled, endorsed her.

There was no other contestant.

The Wassa West District Directorate of the Electoral Commission supervised the election.

Addressing the delegates, Mr Peter Mac Manu, Western Regional Chairman of the NPP told the supporters to remain loyal to the Party. He told the Polling Station Chairmen to form a five-member committee in their respective areas to embark on house-to-house campaign to explain to the people the good works of NPP within its three-and-a-half years rule.

Mr Mac Manu said Oil Palm Initiative; one of the President's Special Initiative (PSIs), would create jobs and that it was up to the people to retain their faith in the Party.

Mrs Kusi thanked the polling station agents and commended them for their good work because her success depended on their effective supervision of materials sent for community projects. She invited all Party supporters to put their hands to the wheel to ensure the Party's success in the elections.

Mr Ben Asabil, Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency Chairman of NPP, advised the Polling Station Chairmen not to take confrontational approach to solve political issues during electioneering campaign.

Nana Agyeman Bimpeh VI, Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency Chairman of Council of Elders, said Mrs Kusi's commitment to work, courage and selflessness had won her the admiration of Party supporters to retain her.
