Mpraeso constituency of NDC holds delegates conference

Kwahu-Adawso (E/R) June 15, GNA - The Mpraeso Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has re-elected Mr Emmanuel Attah Obeng, popularly known as Chairman Soborae, as chairman for another four year- term at a delegates' conference at Kwahu Adawso.

The constituency is the last in the country to hold its delegates conference following a court injunction that prevented it from doing so on two occasions.

Mr Atta Obeng defeated his main challenger; Mr Mahama Salifu, by 113 votes to 81 votes, whiles the position of Vice Chairman, went to Mr Ben Akorli, who had 111 votes as against 81 votes by Mr Ohene Gyane. Mr Appah Blankson, was elected the Constituency secretary, when he defeated the incumbent secretary, Mr Ernest Agyenim Boateng, by 106 votes to 84 votes.

The Constituency Organiser position, went to Nana Abredu Somuah, while Mr Owusu Abubakar was elected unopposed as the treasurer. Mr Mark Ofosu Frempong, was elected Propaganda Secretary, Madam Adzoe Sakina Norshie, Women Organiser and Alhaji Iddrisu Abdulai, Youth Organiser. Addressing the conference, Mr Yaw Peprah, Eastern Regional Organiser of the party, Mr Tawiah Boateng advised supporters of the party not to listen to negative propaganda from their political opponents against the government.

They should rather educate and explain government's policies and programmes to the people to build confidence in the government. The Regional Secretary of the party, Mr Anthony Gyampo, urged the elected executives to co-operate with the District Chief Executive to implement more development projects to enhance the living standard of the people. 15 June 10
