Mahama is insensitive – Kwaku Kwarteng

The Member of Parliament for Obuasi West in the Ashanti region, Hon. Kwaku Kwarteng, says President Mahama is insensitive.

Speaking on Atinka AM Drive Friday , the NPP MP argued that it is unfair for the president to suggest that people are going through difficult times because they are not taking advantage of the so-called booming economy .

Reacting to the President’s comments that Ghanaians must take advantage of the booming economy to improve their lives, Mr Kwarteng debunked the president’s claim that the economy had improved adding that high inflation coupled with the recent energy crisis had brought untold hardships to Ghanaians .

Hon. Kwarteng observed that, President Mahama and the NDC have made the nation experienced four years of power fluctuation out of the eight years in office .

He said the government is competing with the private sector and borrowing excessively on the financial market, which has accounted for the high-interest rates. He said inflation has now hit 19.2%, which means the economy is not doing well.

According to him, the President should rather apologize and not blame people for supposedly not taking advantage of the booming economy. “ if the president has nothing to offer again why should we give him another mandate?” he asked.

Hon. Kwarteng charged the president to fight corruption , mishandling of public funds, incompetence and waste of national resources.
He urged Kwateng urged the president to apologize to Ghanaians for his failure and stop the needless blame game.
