Mahama is a bedbug, I'll fumigate him in 2020 - Wontumi

Chairman Wontumi Chairman Wontumi

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, has vowed to cut short former President Mahama’s dream of coming back to power in 2020.

Mr. Benard Anwti-Boasiako noted that former President Mahama is gradually garning notoriety for spewing lies which is also weakening his chances of becoming president in the future.

His latest outbusrt comes on the back of a plea from former President Mahama to President Nana Akufo-Addo, to ensure the fumigation of dormitories in Senior High School (SHS) across the country.

Mr. Benard Anwti-Boasiako also known as Chairman Wontumi noted that the free SHS policy implented by the current NPP government has minimized the chances of the NDC coming back to power soon and this has contributed to attacks coming from the former president.

He added that if the ex-President Mahama wanted to speak to facts, a simple crosscheck would educate him that the bedbugs’ invasion of schools started during his administration when he couldn’t implement the free SHS policy.

“If it is about bedbugs in secondary schools, then I want to tell Mahama that there isn’t any. He is the only bedbug I see and I will fumigate him in 2020”, Chairman Wontumi warned.

According to the former president, he has encountered many students with complaints of bites from bed bugs due to the congestion in their dorms brought on by the free SHS policy.

Shortly after his plea was carried by the media, the Information Minister, Mr. Oppong Nkrumah, observed that Mr. Mahama’s position over the fumigation of SHSs across the country was sharply misleading.

That, he said, was because contrary to the claims being made by Mr. Mahama, government had actually fumigated about 678 out of nearly 700 public SHSs.

He said “the administration thereby encourages the former president that when it comes to state and national matters, it will be best if he speaks in the national interest, and speaks to facts.”
