MP supports Katanga M/A school with desks

Mr Michael Yaw Gyato, Member of Parliament (MP) for Krachi East Constituency of the Oti Region, has presented 600 pieces of dual desks to the Katanga Municipal Assembly Basic School.

The desks valued at GH¢67, 000.00 are to provide a conducive environment to facilitate teaching and learning.

The MP said the furniture was financed using his MP's Common Fund, adding that similar support would soon be provided to the rest of the schools in the Constituency to enhance teaching and learning.

Mr Gyato said a monitoring team would be set up to monitor the beneficiary schools to ensure that the items were used for their intended purposes.

Mr Augustine Aboagye Adjei, the Headteacher, was grateful to the MP for the gesture, saying it would go a long way to improve studies in the school.

Mr Adjei promised to put the desks to good use for the betterment of the pupils and to ensure its maintenance.

Mrs Georgina Mensah, the Municipal Director of Education, also commended the MP for the support and the Municipal Assembly for providing the school with classroom infrastructure.
