Let us strengthen NPP in Akrofuom constituency - MP

Akrofuom (Ash), Aug 24, GNA - The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for the newly created Akrofuom constituency, Mr Kwabena Appiah-Pinkrah, has called for the strengthening of the Party in the Constituency.

"The Party must survive in the constituency," he told Party executives and polling station agents at a meeting at Akrofuom in the Adansi South district.

The MP stated that he was willing to fund the organisation of special communal labour activities in all the zones as part of measures to promote communal spirit in the constituency. Mr Francis Dorpenyoh, the Adansi South District Chief Executive, reminded the people of the new constituency about their responsibility to assist the district assembly to develop the area. He stressed the need for the election of polling station and constituency leaders at the various zones to be transparent to avoid any enmity among party members.

Mr Maurice Jonas Woode, the constituency secretary of the party, reminded the members of the need to work hard to maximise votes in the 2008 elections.

He gave statistics of the 2000 and 2004 general elections, as well as the voting pattern and said, "though the party won in the two elections, the performance in 2004 was below that of 2000".
