Lecturer launches campaign for NPP Candidacy for Ejisu-Juaben

Ejisu (Ash), April 11, GNA - Madam Abena Pokuaa Amoah, a lecturer at Southwark College, United Kingdom, contesting the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) parliamentary primaries in Ejisu-Juaben, has pledged to boost the party's dynamism across board towards a resounding victory. She would do everything to ensure that the party's structures in the constituency were functional as they prepared for the battle to recapture political power in Election 2012, she explained. This was at her campaign launch at Ejisu that brought together a big crowd of NPP loyalists.

Mr Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), and Mr Akwasi Osei Adjei, former Minister of Foreign Affairs and MP, are her two contestants in the election fixed for April 30. Madam Amoah, a lecturer in Tourism, is campaigning on improved education and jobs through aggressive local tourism drive. She said she would also be accountable to the people, adding that, they could only expect selfless service from her.

A former constituency women's organizer, she appealed to the delegates to give their votes to her so that together they would work to bring the NPP back to power to restore hope and confidence to the people. She said it was time more women were encouraged and supported to become parliamentarians.
