Kwabre West NPP chairman satisfied with on-going registration

Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, Kwabre West Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed satisfaction with the smooth and peaceful conduct of the biometric voter registration in the area.

The constituency chairman has also described the atmosphere at the centres as calm and relaxed.

He said despite the initial technical hitches at some places, the exercise has generally been going well.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after touring some registration centres on Wednesday, Odeneho Appiah, praised the people for responsible conduct, waiting patiently in long queues to go through the process.

He said there had not been any reported incidence of intimidation, harassment or violent clashes and that the response of the people to the exercise had also been encouraging.

Odeneho Appiah, however, complained about the slow pace of the registration process, something that many find disappointing, and called for the speeding up of the the process to cut down the time spent in queues.**
