Kofi Portuphy is our next chair-delegates

Even before the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) goes to its delegates’ congress to elect national executives of the party; it looks like the National coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) is the delegates’ hot favorite to represent the party as its next chairman.

Intelligence information I have picked up indicate that the delegates and members of the NDC have unanimously settled on voting massively for Kofi Portuphy to be the next chairman of the party at the next congress.

According to the delegates who pleaded for anonymity included regional, constituency and ward executives who were of the view that Kofi Portuphy has what it takes to give the party a major facelift and also restructure the party to be more viable and attractive.

According to the delegates Mr. Kofi Portuphy exhumes true commitment, dedication, and humility and above all possesses the requisite qualifications to lead the NDC to victory in 2016.

According to a constituency chairman in Accra Mr. Portuphy is hard working, possesses impeccable organizational record, a full grown party man and affable, a man we can relate and work with for the common good of the party.’’

A lot of the delegates have expressed full confidence in the NADMO boss as the next chairman of the NDC and have assured him of taking up the cudgels of Mr. Portuphy.

Ahead of the yet to be confirmed date and venue of the grand congress majority of party supporters and delegates have tipped the NADMO boss to win the chairmanship and change the fortunes of the party.

An aspiring regional youth organizer in the Volta region Alhaji Bello stated unequivocally ‘’with Portuphy in the helm of affairs in the NDC we believe he will chart the right path, avoid court action and he will put his organizational skills to bear in ensuring a one touch victory in the next elections.’’

According to him, Mr. Portuphy’s desire to contest the chairmanship race is not to square the circle but to take pride in the fact that the grass root must be made to own the party. His doors are always open always smiling and extending a hand of friendship to all both poor and rich, beautiful and ugly as far as you are an NDC he is there to give a hearing ear.

‘’this is the kind of leader we want.’’

‘’it is important at this stage for the NDC family to realize that Kofi Portuphy has what it takes to consolidate the gains made and to also safeguard the party’s victory,’’ Alhaji Bello said.

Meanwhile incumbent chairman Dr. Kwabena Adjei and another leading member of the NDC Mr. Dan Abodakpi have all expressed interest in contesting the chairmanship position.
