Jomoro MP to honour committed workers in constituency on May Day

Member of Parliament for Jomoro Constituency of the Western Region, Mr. Paul Essien has pledged his commitment to honour over 2000 'committed' workers in his Constituency.

The award ceremony which is slated for May 1st, 2018, under the theme, "2017 Hardworking Unprecedented Personality Award" will bring all chiefs and people of the area together to witness the glorious occasion.

The move forms part of the MP's 2016 campaign manifesto to reward the efforts of hardworking employees whose selfless contributions have made great impact in the development of the District.

Speaking to GhanaWeb's Western Regional Correspondent, the Jomoro Lawmaker who is also the Deputy Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs Minister indicated that the maiden award is to motivate all civil service workers to work assiduously to develop the Constituency.

He mentioned that "this is to motivate all civil service workers and draw their attention that everything they are doing we are watching and will award them when the time comes".

According to him, the award is not going to be a nine-day wonder but would be organised annually.

He added that workers in the Constituency are committed workers and without them, the area will not be developed.

"We shouldn't just celebrate May Day every year just like that but we should award our deserving and hardworking workers", he noted.

He further disclosed that the ceremony was going to attract the presence of some government appointees and members of key members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

"Personalities such as Hon. Adwoa Sarfo, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, Education Minister, Deputy Labour Minister, John Boadu, Sammy Awuku and other personalities would be in attendance", he revealed.

The awards will be presented in the following categories

1. Best circuit teacher award for 7 circuits

2. Best 3 nurses for 2017

3. Best Police officer 2017

4. Best CEPS officer 2017

5. Best Fire officer 2017

6. Best immigration officer 2017

7. Best naval officer 2017

8. Best Male JHS student 2017

9. Best Female JHS student 2017

10. Best Male SHS Student 2017

11. Best female SHS student 2017

12. Jomoro Education office 3 computers

13. Jomoro health directorate 3 computers

14. District magistrate court office one motorbike

15 District magistrate court office one air condition

16. Best civil service worker ECG Boss

17. 30 graduated Hairdressers to receive 30 dryers from Jomoro

18. 30 sewing machines to 30 graduated

seamstresses from Jomoro

19. All headmasters and heads at the health centers including heads of all civil servants and security services to receive fowls for their May Day celebrations including all chiefs in Jomoro

20. Finally all civil servants including chiefs and queen mothers May Day celebrations party (serve your self).

The lucky winners will go home with various prizes including;
