John Tia’s Camp Fires Back

Tongo (U/E), Feb. 10, GNA - The campaign team for Mr John Tia Akologo, Member of Parliament for Talensi, has debunked allegations of non-performance leveled against the MP by the concerned National Democratic Congress [NDC] Youth of the constituency.

Some NDC youth in the constituency accused the MP of abysmal performance, creating disunity among party executives, disregarding traditional rulers in the constituency and vigorously pursuing politics of deception.

The campaign team led by Mr Bartholomew Tia, told a press conference on Wednesday that the allegations of non-performance leveled against Mr Akologo were untrue and that they were made to bring the MP’s image into disrepute without any justifiable cause.

Mr Tia expressed dismay at the manner in which the aggrieved youth had subjected the MP to intense criticisms which had exposed him to public hatred.

He called on the youth to desist from what he described as unnecessary criticisms and challenged them to back their allegations with concrete evidences.

Later in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Bartholomew Tia alleged that the recent name-callings, unhealthy statements and misbehaviour exhibited by some youth in the party in the constituency were all fomented by some miscreants whose favourite contenders lost massively to the incumbent MP in the just ended primary.

He said he believed that some personalities in the NDC in the constituency were only trying to pursue a vendetta against the MP just because the candidate of their choice lost to him in the January primary.

Mr Tia appealed to the youth and party loyalists to put their parochial interests aside and work together to confront the up-coming presidential and parliamentary elections with vigor.
