Introduction: Nana Kwame Minimsaah

This is to introduce myself to you. My name is Nana Kwame Minimsaah. I was
born and raised in Odorkor (Ablekuma North). I have lived in Ablekuma North
for almost 33 years (i.e. almost all of my life). My late mother, Agnes
Kumavor, hails from Atsiavi in the Volta Region while my late father,
Patrick Minimsaah (Nana Ntodi I) hails from Adum Banso in the Western
Region. I am the founder / director of Koncept One Ltd., a multi-media
company located in Odorkor (Ablekuma North) and a director of Wonder
Islands (a tour attraction project located in Senchi, Eastern Region). I am
fluent in English, Ga, Ewe, Twi and Pidgin English languages.



About 8 months ago, I was approached by some New Patriotic Party stalwarts
in the Ablekuma North constituency who wanted me to contest for the seat on
an independent ticket. Initially, I declined the offer. However, after
persistent pressure and subsequent admonishments from my friends, various
opinion leaders and a prayerful consideration, I decided to cede to their
request. My acceptance was after a thorough briefing of NPP's numerous woes
allegedly fanned by Hon. Joe Appiah which was obviously dividing the rank
and file of the party (which the party hierarchy have been reluctant to
solve). Above all, a quick survey showed that the constituents feel the
time has come for a real son of the land (born and raised in the
constituency) who can tackle the constituency’s teeming problems in a
non-partisan manner, to represent the constituency in parliament.



Though I became a card-bearing member of the NPP (making backroom
contributions) in early 2011, I decided to risk my membership to contest
the Ablekuma seat. Sincerely, I believe it is an opportunity to continue
with all the good things I have been doing with and for some of the people
of Ablekuma North. I am widely known by both NPP and NDC stalwarts and
floating voters to be simple, dynamic, very innovative, approachable,
caring, selfless, charitable, an IT expert, passionate about creating jobs
and a man who knows the constituency inside-out. I have a lot of friends in
both parties who would 'do anything' to take me to parliament because they
know exactly who I am and what I am capable of doing.



I have counted the cost for contesting this position. I am more than ready
to run the race. Thankfully, many well-wishers are already making awesome
pledges of support (financially and logistically). I have the unflinching
support of constituency ‘king makers’ who I cannot mention here due to
their desire to remain anonymous.



I disagree with those who think I will split Hon. Joe Appiah’s votes for
NDC’s candidate to sail through. That will not happen. Hon. Joe Appiah and
Ras Mubarak are considered as people who were ‘smuggled’ into the
constituency for political reasons, so they honestly don't stand a good
chance in 2012. Both of them are likely to share 53% of the polls. (Ras
Mubarak: 25% / Hon. Joe Appiah: 28%). Just like Hon. Joe Appiah’s woes in
the NPP, I have reliable information concerning questions raised in the NDC
camp regarding how long Ras has lived in the constituency. I am told that
he has not even lived in the constituency for more than 2 years as he
claims he has.


Since my popularity cuts across both political parties, I am naturally
comfortable with the independent slot. Let me stress that I am an
independent candidate who is truly an independent candidate. That is to
say, I will be a Parliamentarian for all the people living in Ablekuma
North irrespective of their political, religious, professional or ethnic
inclination.



Looking at the current politics of Ablekuma North constituency, one can
tell that there is no better time for me to go independent than now. I am
not one of those independent candidates whose prowess can be wished away. I
am in the race to win ..... convincingly!



Finally, I will be glad to avail myself to answer any questions bothering
on my parliamentary aspirations.
