Senior Lecturer at the Department of Political Science, University of Education, Winneba, Dr. Braimah Awaisu, says it is politically incorrect to keep parties that are inactive on the role of political parties in the country.

He said political parties and institutions are made to work and any entity not working, seizes to function.

Speaking on ‘Behind the News’ on GBC’s Uniiq FM, Dr. Awaisu said different political parties enrich the country’s multiparty system, and these must comply with rules and regulations governing the system.

He said however if any party flouts the rule, it must be taken off the system.

Meanwhile, some of the parties have refuted claims that they have disobeyed the EC’s rules and regulations. They claim their parties are active and operational.

IT expert of the United Front Party (UFP), Emmanuel Boamah, said his party walked out of the meeting because the EC gave them a wrong agenda, which they felt was not worth discussing.
