"I would develop Ningo/Prampram Constituency"- Okorno

Ningo, Sept. 13, GNA- Mr Abednego Tawiah Okorno, New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate-elect for Ningo/Prampram, has assured the constituents that he would help speed up the development of the area if given the nod as the Member of Parliament (MP) in next year's general elections.

"We need to create more jobs for the youth, provide good road networks, improve the sanitation and drainage systems, and provide potable water for the people."

Mr Okorno gave the assurance when he spoke to the Ghana News Agency at Ningo at the end of his two-week campaign tour of the constituency, to canvass for votes in order to wrestle the seat from the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He stressed the need for the people to develop a high sense of commitment and dedication to hard work, in order to improve their living standards.

This, he said, would enable the constituency to rise up to the many challenges facing it.

Mr Okorno commended the NPP for providing jobs for about 200 people in the constituency, under the National Youth Employment Programme, and promised to add to the number when elected as MP. Asked about his chances of winning the seat for NPP in 2008, the parliamentary aspirant said he was very confident of a resounding victory, because the constituents themselves, were calling for a change in leadership.
