"I will reverse CPP's dwindling fortunes"- Samia Nkrumah

Ho, May 30, GNA - Samia Nkrumah, Member of Parliament for Jomoro, on Monday said, she would reverse the Party's weak standing, by uniting all 93Nkrumaists" for victory in 2012, If elected Chairperson of the CPP.

"As painful as it is, we have to admit our dwindling fortunes and facilitate unity among Nkrumahist parties for victory." Addressing delegates from the Volta Region in Ho, she called on all Nkrumahists to be open minded for unity towards electoral victory in 2012.

"We can't become a relevant force if we, as one family are fragmented=85we must go into 2012 as one Nkrumahist Party," she said. Samia Nkrumah attributed the Party's declining fortunes to 93doing the same thing with bad results all the time." She therefore called for change in the way things are done and return to the core principles of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, which is keeping in touch with the grassroots.

"Our activists are our nerve centre and magic keys to victory. We therefore have to concentrate on the constituencies, a principle that made our Party great and strong," Samia Nkrumah said. Referring to a GNA story, she said it was true that the CPP had no Party offices in many constituencies across the country and underscored the need for the Party's 93dynamic presence" in the constituencies and branches. Samia Nkrumah said the country was yearning for an accountable and transparent government and said the CPP must thus, 93inject a heavy dose of accountability and transparency in its activities," to regain its credibility.

She said it was time the Party was managed like a 93well run company," and underscored the need to quickly re-package the Party's messages for cadres to propagate.

"We already have a clear ideology and only have to re-package and diffuse it to all our activists," Samia Nkrumah said. She described herself as strong, sincere, independent minded and a dedicated individual, who the Party needed to ensure victory in 2012. "I know how to rally people and I believe my successes at Jomoro would propel me to victory," Samia Nkrumah said.
