I’ll provide ‘servant leadership’- Ahenkorah

Mr Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah, New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary aspirant in the party’s impending primary of the Tema West Constituency, has pledged the electorate a new form of leadership called the ‘servant leadership.’

By this, he said, he would not only implement feasible suggestions but would also accept constructive criticisms from the rank and file of the party.

Mr Ahenkorah, who is the Managing Director of Carloking Freight Services in Tema, made the pledge when he interacted with newsmen at his campaign office at Sakumono on Saturday.

He said to have identified unity as a tool that ensured the attainment of the collective desires and aspirations of a people, he would strive at all times to unite the electorate.

Mr Ahenkorah said he would network the polling stations through regular general meetings, to ensure interaction among the electorate ‘to promote the presence of NPP in the whole constituency.

The Parliamentary Aspirant further pledged to increase the party’s victory margin with her political opponent by a minimum of 5,000 votes.

Asked what his vision would be when elected as the parliamentary candidate, Mr Ahenkorah said his vision for the constituency lied in four major areas, namely, education, sports, youth development, and welfare/microfinance schemes.

On Education, he said he would set up an endowment fund to cater for brilliant but needy children within the constituency.

Turning to Sports, Mr Ahenkorah recounted that Tema was once upon a time the hub of Colts football, and this he said, unearthed talents like Abladey Kuma, Joe Addo, Shamo Quaye, and Daniel Addo, among others.

He said since football had moved certain individuals from zeros to heroes, he would revive Colts soccer in Tema West, with the ultimate aim of forming a football club to be named ‘Nkabom FC.’

Touching on Welfare, Mr Ahenkorah said the well-being of Tema West constituents would be his major focus when elected first as the Parliamentary Candidate and subsequently as the Member of Parliament.

‘I have the blue print of how to set up a successful revolving fund, or a microfinance scheme, which will give out loans without interest to constituents, and also give training to beneficiaries on how to make profits from the loans.’

On Youth Development, the Parliamentary Aspirant said, he would empower the youth to be self-sufficient, because in his view, ‘youth empowerment is key to national development.’

Summing up, Mr Ahenkorah pledged to provide a New Tema West where he would carry the collective hopes and aspirations of the entire constituency to an expected destination, and therefore entreated the delegates to give him the mandate as their parliamentary candidate.

He will be contesting for the position with two other candidates, namely, Mrs Irene Naa Torshie Addo, the incumbent, and Madam Adwoa Amoako, on Saturday, July 25, during which 810 delegates will determine their fate.
