Land Acquired for New "Gyandu Park"

A 22-point five-acre land, has been acquired near the Sekondi Gyandu Park for the construction of a new Sports stadium.

Mr Philip Kwesi Nkrumah, Shama-Ahanta East Metropolitan Chief Executive, told the GNA in an interview at Sekondi that the project is a collaboration between the Metropolitan Assembly, the Ministry of Youth and Sports a private entrepreneur.

Mr. Nkrumah said two private entrepreneurs have already expressed interest in the project and they are required to submit proposals and designs, which are to be used as a criteria for selection.

When completed, the Assembly will be responsible for the management of the stadium.
