Greenstreet questions Sam George’s qualification for Presidency job

The General Secretary of the Convention People’s Party, Ivor Greenstreet has expressed concern over the competence of presidential staffer Sam George, whose comments over the weekend sparked some ruckus in the media.

George wrote on his Facebook wall, in response to Greenstreet’s direct a criticism of the Government at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) that, the wheelchair-bound CPP politician and Lawyer apparently needed “elevation to see the Better Ghana”.

Greenstreet had told the President and delegates of the ruling party :“Nobody is feeling your better Ghana” when he delivered his party’s solidarity message to the NDC at the party's 8th Congress at the Baba Yara Stadium in the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi – stronghold of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

George’s Facebook comment following the open criticism by Greenstreet has been interpreted as an attack on persons living with disability forcing him to apologise to PWLDs.

In an interview with Morning Starr host Kafui Dey on Monday, Greenstreet said although he accepts the Presidential Staffer’s apology, he does not believe he is qualified for the current position he occupies.

“I think I’ve heard that he has apologised, once he’s apologised we can move on. Just that, I think he is inappropriate for the position he holds, and I don’t think he conveys the right kind of seriousness that the government claims it wants to represent,” he remarked.

Greenstreet, however cautioned:“We are all brothers in the struggle and so when you say things like that it’s as though you want to hurt the person and so the person takes it personally.

So he should remain where he is and continue to enjoy. Maybe he is also enjoying the gifts that have been shared".
