Greater Accra NDC suspends First Vice Chairman

Accra, March 21, GNA - The Greater Accra Regional Functional Executive Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) announced on Tuesday that it has suspended Alhaji Ismail Bawa, Regional First Vice Chairman, for six months. A statement signed by Mr Danny Anang, Regional Chairman, said the suspension took effect from Monday, March 20.

"The decision has been taken to maintain sanity and discipline within the ranks of Party members in the Region," the statement said. It said the activities of Alhaji Bawa ran contrary to the dictates of the Party's Constitution as he continued to stay away from all Party activities.

The statement said Alhaji Bawa had been associating himself with the new political group, the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), of which he is a leading member. The DFP was formed by Former NDC Chairman Dr Obed Asamoah after the Koforidua Congress that saw him lose his chairmanship.
