Government urged to tolerate political opponents

Kumasi, July 8, GNA - Primate Seth K. Adofo, Spiritual Head of the Brotherhood Church, has appealed to the Government to be tolerant of its political opponents.

This, he said, was because nation building was a collective responsibility, and all the people should be encouraged to be part of the socio-economic development. Primate Adofo was addressing the opening session of the Church's three-day annual international delegates conference in Kumasi. More than 1,600 delegates drawn from Ghana, La Cote D'Ivoire, Benin and Togo are attending.

"Church Growth, National Unity" is the theme. Primate Adofo urged the Government to work towards deepening the country's democracy, and help to achieve economic turnaround. He urged the people to bury their political differences and to support the government to carry through its development agenda. "As Christians we have to ensure peace, promote good neighbourliness, and participate actively in community development. "We must be law abiding and respect one and another," he added. 8 July 10
