Gomoa Potsin ward NDC chairman defects to NPP

Mr. James Ebo Eninful, Gomoa Potsin ward Chairman of the Gomoa East branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has announced his defection to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Mr Eninful told a press conference that his defection to NPP was as a result of “bad administration of the national economy by the NDC government since it assumed office”.

Mr Eninful said one of the reasons for his defection was the missing of a huge sum of money from Gomoa East District Assembly which the authorities had kept mute over.

According to him, the MP and the District Assembly had not performed their obligations to improve living conditions of the people.

Mr Eninful said the performance of the government had not been encouraging in the areas of education, health, roads, agric sector, job creation and proper management of the economy.

He said the electioneering campaign promises made by the NDC to the people in Gomoa East have not been fulfilled and he could not continue to be a leading member of the NDC whilst the electorate continuing to complain about the deficiencies in the administration of the NDC.

According to Mr Eninful, the NPP’s free Senior High School educational policy, free health insurance for children less than 5 to 18 years and others convinced him and his family to join the NPP.

He said the Gomoa East District benefited from Millennium Challenge Account compact which led to the tarring of roads in some farming and fishing communities and other developmental projects were executed during NPP regime.

Mr Eninful mentioned some of tarred roads as those in Gomoa Afransi-Akwamu, Budumbrum-Apra-Ofankor, Fetteh Kakraba-Nkwantanum, Adabra, Eduafokwaa and Gomoa Dasum-Agona Kwanyako.
