Gifty Anti’s MP posters pop up

Posters of television host Gifty Anti have been spotted by TV3 in Tema, where she formerly resided.

Ms. Anti vehemently denied reports she is interested in the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam seat after her name popped up as one of the numerous media practitioners going to contest New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary primaries.

“It is false. I haven't declared any intention of contesting and I haven't made any move to contest any primaries. I have no idea where this is coming from because for now I haven't discussed with anybody. It's not on my table. I am just concentrating on what I am doing,” she told www.tv3network.com last Tuesday.

But if the posters are anything to go by, it is clear she would contest a Deputy Finance Minister, Cassiel Ato Forson, if she emerges victorious while the National Democratic Congress (NDC) also retain their 2012 candidate.

The posters are said to be “powered by Friends of Gifty Anti (FOGA)”.

After the NPP opened nominations on March 30 for its parliamentary primaries - rescheduled to be held on June 13 from May 24 - many surprise names have popped up.

Lawyer Egbert Faibille Jnr and Searchlight Managing Editor Kenneth Agyei Kuranchie are among those whose names have popped up.

Former Chief Marketing Officer of MTN, George Andah, has already confirmed he will contest Foreign Minister Hannah Serwaa Tetteh, if both sail successfully through their parties' primaries.
