Ghanaians are suffering because of educated thieves - Kuntu Blankson

Former Member of Parliament for Ekumfi in the Central Region has called on Christians to make the effort by reflecting the teachings they receive at church in their lives.

According to Hon. George Kuntu Blankson, the hardship and poverty being witnessed in Ghana today is as a result of some people not being truthful and honest.

“..if a thief acquires knowledge through education, he is going to be an educated and sophisticated thief who would be in a perfect position to steal from the national purse. This is what we see at the National Service Secretariat and many other places, and politicians are blamed for it. But if you have the fear of God, you would live your life according to the dictates of the Bible”.

He made this statement during the annual harvest of the Church of Pentecost in Eyisum, in the Ekumfi District over the weekend.

In a separate event to raise funds for the construction of a community Center at Asokwa in the same District, Kuntu Blankson called on the Chiefs and people of the area to nurture the spirit of patriotism in the youth.

“..we must be very careful of our actions as a country. If we always behave as though we are the wisest people all the time, we shall fail because countries that have developed did not do it this way. As we are seated here, I see that people are in their houses unconcerned about the fund raising. Where is our sense of Patriotism? Let us try to teach our children to love our nation and with this, they would find it difficult to be corrupted when they grow up and get into places of responsibility,” he advised.
